Uncover the awe-inspiring conservation work that goes on behind the scenes at the British Museum.

In this tour, gain exclusive access to the Museum’s conservation studios and listen to our expert conservators as they discuss the methods, equipment and current projects treating some of the Museum’s fascinating objects.

Visit the organic materials conservation studio and learn about the current projects our conservators are working on. This will include the preparation of ancient Egyptian artefacts for the international touring exhibition Exploring ancient lives and a recently acquired cartonnage coffin.

This special event is exclusive to Members. Please note that only a small number of tickets will be available for this event to ensure that Members have the best experience when visiting.

Please meet 10 minutes before the scheduled start time at Members’ cloakroom located next to the Montague Place entrance.
