In celebration of the ten year anniversary of the Sir Percival David Gallery of Chinese Ceramics - one of the finest collections of Chinese ceramics anywhere in the world - musician Dennis Lee performs traditional Chinese xiao flute music in the gallery inspired by China's rich cultural heritage.

Dennis Kwong Thye Lee has performed in traditional Chinese orchestras since early childhood. He has performed as an orchestra member and soloist on the xiao (end-blown bamboo flute) and the dizi (transverse bamboo flute)

Lee specialises in traditional and crossover pieces and classical duets with the guqin in the 'scholarly music' genre. His teachers include renowned musicians Zhang Wei-liang (Beijing), Luo Shou-cheng (Shanghai) and Hu Rui-jun (London). He is a member of the London Youlan Qin Society and performs regularly with the UK Chinese Ensemble, the Yin Yang Collective and various other groups.

Over the years Lee has performed at venues including the V&A, the British Museum, Covent Garden Royal Opera House, Rich Mix, The Place (Euston), the Trafalgar Square Chinese New Year Celebrations and the Cultural Olympiad 'New Music 20x12' at the Southbank Centre.
