Young Friends are invited to a special Christmas sleepover, where you can discover how Christmas was celebrated through the ages.

Through craft workshops, participatory activities and storytelling sessions, Young Friends and their guests will look at Christmas from its pagan roots, exploring everything from medieval customs to traditional Victorian celebrations.

At the end of the evening, Young Friends and their guests will spend the night sleeping in the Ancient Egypt galleries surrounded by kings and gods from the ancient world.

Enjoy mince pies and hot chocolate in the break and wake-up to a festive breakfast in the morning. Then, come face-to-face with one of history's greatest forgotten kings in the exhibition I am Ashurbanipal: king of the world, king of Assyria, or enjoy a surprise morning activity.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Age: 8–15
