Live screening of an exclusive lecture for Members.

There is a long and distinguished history of scientific research at the British Museum. The Department of Scientific Research works alongside the Conservation Department and curatorial departments to help preserve the collection, to undertake new scientific investigation and to disseminate findings to scholars and to the public.

In this lecture, Carl Heron, Director of Scientific Research, reviews 2017, looking at spectacular new research findings, the development of new laboratory facilities, and the many activities of the department. He will reveal how scientific research is vital to the Museum's future, and will signal some of the new directions, opportunities and challenges in 2018 and beyond.

Includes a complimentary drink.

Please note that this is a live relay screening of the lecture that will be taking place in the BP Lecture Theatre.
