The audio guide is available every day from 10.00 to 16.30, and until 19.30 on Fridays. Some galleries are closed on Friday evenings, so all of the audio guide stops may not be available.
There are introductions to over 60 galleries available to download on your own phone, computer or other device. These short audio tracks recorded by British Museum curators are the perfect way to prepare for your visit, or to simply enjoy at home. They also offer a good alternative to help you explore the Museum if the full audio guide is sold out.

British Sign Language
The British Sign Language (BSL) guide is available free of charge for deaf or hard of hearing visitors. Four dynamic presenters interpret the objects in the collection, introduce tours and provide context based on curators’ commentaries – all on a high resolution screen.
Audio descriptive guide
The audio descriptive guide is available free of charge for blind or partially sighted visitors and others who find audio description helpful. It contains detailed description of objects along with curators’ commentaries. It is available on a touchpad device.
