Study rooms and libraries

Each Museum department has public research facilities including study rooms and, in most cases, a library.

These can all be accessed for research enquiries by appointment only, apart from the Anthropology Library and Research Centre which is open every week day 10.00–17.00 (12.00–17.00 Thursdays).

Application to study

All visitors wishing to study items held in the British Museum collections are asked to complete an Application to Study form. Visitors must read the full study room information guide before completing their application.
