British general and diplomat; Consul General to Morocco.

Son of Very Rev Edward Auriol Hay-Drummond and Grandson of Most Rev Robert Hay-Drummond, Archbishop of York, the 2nd son of the 8th Earl of Kinnoull. He served with the 61st and 73rd regiments in the Peninsula, France, and was on Wellington’s staff at Waterloo.
After leaving the army, he became first Principal Clerk in the Lyon Office (his cousin, the 11th Earl of Kinnoull, was Lord Lyon King of Arms).
He was Consul General in Morocco until his death in 1845, and was succeeded by his second son John.
