Archaeologist and collector, especially of homoerotic works of art; commissioned the Tate version of 'The Kiss' from Auguste Rodin (q.v.).

Coins once owned by Warren were sold to the British Museum in 1933 by Rev Edgar Rogers (q.v.). He also owned the 'Warren hoard' of Tarentine coins (of uncertain provenance, acquired by Warren before 1900); coins from the hoard were acquired in 1929.
