Cavino worked as a goldsmith, sculptor, and engaraver of struck medals. He made imitations of ancient coins. He was born in Padua into a family originally from nearby Cavino d'Arsego. Father Bartolommeo Cavino (q.v), brother Battista (q.v) and was married in 1517 to Romana (q.v). His son Domenico (q.v) was also a goldsmith.
