Chancellor of Cambridge University and Bisop of Rochester (1504). Opposed Lutheran theology, and Henry VIII's divorce; eventually found guilty of treason for refusing to accept Henry as Supreme Head of the Church of England, and beheaded. Regarded as a saint and martyr by the Roman Catholic church.
