Painter of mythological subjects and portraits; c.1632/33 he became a pupil of Paul van Overbeeck in Antwerp, becoming a master of the Antwerp guild of St Luke 1636/37 and working with Rubens; apparently went to London c.1644 (see two prints by Hollar after his portraits).
