Trade card in Banks Collection (D,2.2549) advertises "Philosophical Fire For Lighting a Candle without Flint, Steel, or Tinder, by the Real and Sole Inventor From Paris and London... Constuctor of all Sorts of Barometers, Thermometers, Hygrometers and all Sorts of Phisical [sic] Instruments of Glass." Banks (D,2.2553) advertises "C. Bettally. Constructor of Barometers, Thermometers & Hygrometers, &c..." Banks (D,2.2554) is nearly identical to D,2.2549, but includes the additional offering of "Chemical Flambeaux", and an address change from Charlotte Street to 292 Oxford Street.
