Painter, wood carver, weaver and senior woman from the Spinifex people (Pila Nguru). Born at Ilkawitja rockhole in the northern part of the Spinifex area in the Great Victoria Desert, Western Australia. Her language is Pitjantjatjara and today she lives at the Tjuntjuntjara community with her husband Byron Brookes who is also a renowned Spinifex artist.
Throughout the nuclear testing at Maralinga (1956-1963) and severe drought, Woods and her family stayed on their homelands continuing a traditional way of life, until 1986.
She has exhibited widely and her works are now held in several public and private institutions (2014).
