Painter and senior woman from the Spinifex people (Pila Nguru). Born at Kanpa in the Great Victoria Desert, Western Australia. Her language is Pitjantjatjara and she lives at Tjuntjuntjara (2014).
Pennington and family walked in to the Cundeelee Mission to escape a period of drought and nuclear testing at Maralinga (1956-1963). She first joined the Spinifex Art Project at its inception in 1997, participating in both group and solo works where she paints her country.
