John Turtle Wood (archaeologist; architect; British; Male; 1805 - 1894)

Architect and surveyor. Employed by the Ottoman Railway Company from 1858, and between 1863-1874 he excavated on behalf of the British Museum at ancient Ephesos, where he discovered the site of the Temple of Artemis.
