Born in Accra, Ghana, now lives in Kumasi; studied painting at the College of Art in Kumasi from 1976 to 1980; taught at the college since 1986; was a head of the Department of Painting and Sculpture at the College of Art and curator of the Knust Museum; gained an Master degree in African Art in 1992, was Fellow in Printmaking at Chelsea College of Art & Design, The London Institute in 1992-3; has exhibited in Africa, Europe, Australia, the USA and Mexico; his exhibition 'Kumasi Junction' toured the UK in 2002-3, he has lectured and participated in numerous workshops worldwide.
