Edmund Story Maskelyne (Biographical details)

Edmund Story Maskelyne (British; Male; 1921)

Also known as

Maskelyne, Edmund Story; Story-Maskelyne, Edmund

A large number of satirical prints from the collection of Edmund Story Maskelyne was purchased by the BM from the dealer Rimell in 1865. The collector was presumably the second son of Anthony Mervyn Reeve Story and his wife, Margaret, née Maskelyne, who adopted the surname of Story-Maskelyne in 1845; the elder of their two sons, (Mervyn Herbert) Nevil Story-Maskelyne (1823-1911), was Keeper of Minerals at the BM 1857-80 (see his biography in DNB). Edmund Story-Maskelyne inherited the manor of Lydiard Millicent from his father in 1879.
