Director of the Real Estate Corporation of South Africa. In 1913 he donated to the Museum a collection of Japanese and Chinese paintings assembled by Arthur Morrison (q.v.). In the same year he was created a baronet, of Oaklands Park in Awre in the County of Gloucester. The additional surname Gwynne was that of his maternal grandmother.
