Print publisher and dealer. Son and pupil of Francesco Bartolozzi (q.v.), sometimes called 'Stefano'; married the singer Theresa Janssen (Janson) in 1798; Joseph Haydn was a witness at their wedding. Bankrupt to tune of £700 in 1808 (Faringdon Diary 4 July 1808), and said by Beechey to have been ruined by his wife, 'a vain imprudent woman'. Had two daughters: one (Lucia) became Mme Vestris, the other (Josephine) married Joseph Anderson in 1831 (see also BMSat.14428).
