Maso Finiguerra (Biographical details)

Maso Finiguerra (printmaker; goldsmith/metalworker; Italian; Male; 1426 - 1464)

Also known as

Finiguerra, Maso; Finiguerra, Tommaso Di Antonio

Goldsmith; worked in Florence, held by Vasari (who included his biography in the 1568 edition of his Lives) to be the inventor of printing engraving in Italy. Finiguerra is well documented; his role in the invention of printing engravings is however controversial, and the technology had certainly been used in Germany before him.
