Florentine diplomat, painter and collector. Major figure in Florentine art world from about 1702 until his death, and friend of Mariette and Crozat. Wrote a dictionary of Florentine artists (see above). His collection of drawings and prints (about which Mariette was dismissive) was bought by William Kent in 1758, and sold in London.
