Painter, draughtsman and lithographer. Born in Bayonne; Trained in drawing techniques at Bayonne, 1815-1818; Moved to Paris and studied painting at the EcBA as a pupil of Gros, from 1822; Exhibited paintings, drawings but mainly lithographs at the Salon, 1833-1850; Produced 'Cours de dessin'; Returned to Bayonne, 1866, where he taught drawing until 1871; Died in Bayonne. Responsible for disseminating lithography techniques in France.
