Holy Roman Emperor. Appears under various pseudonyms in the semi-biographical works Theuerdank, Freydal and Weisskunig of the second decade of the 16th century. His first wife was Mary of Burgundy (q.v.) and father of Philip the Fair (q.v.) and Margaret of Austria, Regent of the Netherlands (q.v); second wife was Bianca Maria Sforza of Milan.
