Engraver; son of Simon François Ravenet I (q.v.); born in Paris and moved with his father to London. Then to Paris and on to Parma in 1759. Taught at the academy in Parma; in 1769 contributed tothe festival book for the marriage of Ferdinando; began series of engravings of the paintings of Correggio in that city in 1778 which continued after 1800. It is possible that a number of small London portraits and book illustrations signed "Ravenet" may be his juvenile work rather than that of his father.
