Biography

Engraver. Son of a Sussex woodman; trained under Bartolozzi 1769-74, while studying at the RA schools. Describes himself on a print of c. 1775 as 'engraver to His Majesty & His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales'. Later took up stipples
