David Strang (printmaker; British; Male; 1887 - 1967)

Portrait painter, etcher and plate printer. Born in Dumbarton, younger son of the artist William Strang (q.v.) and brother of Ian Strang. Studied at Glasgow University. Exhibited once at the Royal Academy. He is known particularly for cataloguing his father's work and printing his plates. He presented 600 of these impressions to GlasgowArt Gallery in 1955 and donated William Strang impressions to the British Museum. He also printed for Laura Knight (q.v.) and posthumously for Walter Sickert (q.v.).
