Print dealer and publisher; began career on staff of Hurst, Robinson in 1823, later set up on his own. Initially primarily a print publisher, but later moved to become one of the leading connoisseurs and figures in the antiquarian trade in both prints and drawings. Acted as agent for the BM and sold numerous prints to the BM. Sold some of his stock at Sotheby's on 29 February 1860 upon 'relinquishing the general business', but continued to deal from home until his death.
