Mezzotinter, acted as the publisher of much of his work.
Diaries relating to the first six years of his professional career are in the British Library (Add. Mss. 37525). Whitman refers to diaries for the last seven years of Turner's life, saying that they were presented to the Museum by Miss Savery, Turner's grand-daughter, they were, in fact, never presented and, according to Christian Fox (personal communication, November 2010), these later diaries are at the Beinecke Library, Yale University.
