The obverse is struck from the same die as registration no. M.0551. The reverse refers to the Peace of the Pyrenees (November 1659), which brought an end to the war with Spain, and to the King's marriage to Philip IV's daughter, Maria Theresa, which are represented as ushering in a period of stability and prosperity.
