  • Description

Black serpentinite stamp-cylinder seal; three two legged, winged monsters with bulbous rumps face each other on either side of a vertical fish. To the left is a goat-headed monster with a forward-curving horn, hooves and a scorpion's tail ending in a goat's head with splayed horns, following a lion-headed with prickled ears, paws and a scorpion's tail. To the right is a goat-headed monster with splayed horns, hooves and, instead of a tail, the head of a gazelle with a long, forward-curving horn. There is a crescent above the first monster, rosettes above the other two, and three stars around the fish. Line borders top and bottom. A similar monster, on the base, faces left and has the head of a bird of prey; the tail and feet are not clear. In front of the monster is a human head, wearing a round cap, facing right; above it are a rosette and crescent and below it is a star. The cylinder is unpierced and flares out towards the carved base; the stone loop is grooved and set on a raised disc.
