    For further details, see 1948,0211.3.1. See 1896,1118.113.4 for another impression.

    The print on this folio is after a fresco in one of three salons in Palazzo de Sampieri (no longer existing) but described in Cathrine Loisel: 'Lucovico, Agostine, Annibale Carracci', Musee du Louvre, 2004, p. 46. Loisel mentions that the three brothers Carracci worked together in the three salons in the Palazzo de Sampieri, therefore the attribution to Lodovico Carracci remains uncertain, since the fresco could be by either one of the artist.
