  • Curator's comments

    The date 1874 must be an error. It was probably made between about 1800 and 1810, when König produced many of his prints. Nagler and Brun do not give a date in their listing of the artist's prints (see C. Brun, 'Schweizerisches Künstler-Lexikon' vol.II, Frauenfeld 1908, p.181, no. 34).
