- Curator's comments
- 2016 National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage catalogue entries:
'These double circular containers are stacked one on top of the other and are covered with a lid. The center of the lid is incised with the character “hui” (囍) meaning “double happiness,” along with a fish roe design, while the remaining area is filled with silver-inlaid swirling patterns and a scroll design. The side of the lid is decorated with a series of triangle patterns. The outer surface of the containers are splendidly adorned with the ten symbols of longevity and various characters, such as “壽 福 康 寧,” and “吉 祥 如 意,” meaning “longevity, fortune, health, and peace” and “good fortune as one wishes.” The inner surface of the lid is rusted.'
