  • Curator's comments

Picart and his pupils engraved several series on Dutch costumes and it is therefore difficult to determine which one this plate belongs to.
    Dimier records the following sets:
(669-682) 14 plates, Swedish and Dutch costumes, 1696
(704-717) 14 plates, Swedish and Dutch costumes, 1704-1707
    (854-859) 6 costume plates, 1718
(892-902) 11 plates, German and Dutch costumes, 1728.
