Frankau gives this as being after Singleton. According to D'Oench, this print, or the preparatory drawing for it, which is in the BM, (1898,0712.10) was the basis for Sayer and Bennett's variant, 'Beauty in Search of Knowledge' (Sayer/Laurie & Whittle Posture Mezzotints, number 190).
