The register records that this is a view on the Vejle Fiord in Denmark. It was printed from six relief metal plates in a method developed from the Japanese. 150 impressions were printed.

    Additional comment
An impression was exhibited as A Midsummer Night as no 34 at The Society of Graver Printers in Colour in 1912
The Society of Graver Printers in Colour 1920 no 42
Not a woodcut, but a metal relief print executed on zinc by 'The Giles method', the very first print that he did in this manner. The method is similar to that thought then to have been used by William Blake for Songs of Innocence and Experience
The first version was done in 1912 and published by Goupil Gallery. A second revised version was published by Bromhead in 1920 . It is not quite clear if Giles used the same plates for both versions - but I think that he did
It is a view on the Traelde Ness overlooking the Velje Fjord in Denmark
see Malcolm C. Salaman, Masters of the Colour Print IV -W. Giles, London, 1928 , pp.4-5 pl.4
Salaman, 1920 p. 17 as from 6 plates and as Giles' 'latest print'
