This is one of seven small landscape etchings which Reinhart made for the "Almanach aus Rom für Künstler und Freunde des bildenden Kunst", edited by Friedrich Sickler and Reinhart in Rome and published in two volumes in Leipzig in 1810 and 1811 by G J Göschen. From 1789 until his death, Reinhart lived in Rome where he became the outstanding printmaker among the German artists living there. Three other prints from the set are in P&D: Andresen 118-120, all 1st state before letter.
