  • Description

Tombstone of "Greek Islands marble" with a relief of a man leaning on a staff; only the ends of three lines inscription in Greek are visible. Rosette predominant design.

A man stands in a niche that is topped by a basic pediment with a rosette in the centre. He is togate and leans on a staff held in his left hand, with the drapery looped over his left arm. His right arm is either lost or is bent across his waist. Below the relief are three lines of a Greek inscription.

There is some abrasion all over, especially to the base (where it obliterates the inscription), and to the face and body of the figurine in the niche.
