Dr Sebastien Rey is Curator of Ancient Mesopotamia at the British Museum seconded to the Iraq Scheme as Lead Archaeologist since 2016. He is the site director of Tello/ancient Girsu in southern Iraq.
His recent publications include the book For the Gods of Girsu: City-State Formation in Ancient Sumer and an essay written with Irving Finkel for the British Museum's exhibit No Man's Land.
