The Youth Collective is a group of 18–24 year olds working to inspire other young people to engage with the British Museum.

Through events, workshops and creative online content, the Collective aim to spark conversations and influence change at the British Museum.

This spring, the Youth Collective are hosting Unlocking the Museum, a series of events looking at museum careers, how to break into the sector and what these institutions can do to better engage with young people. See Unlocking the Museum events for more details and how to get involved.

Follow the Youth Collective on Instagram and watch past Youth Collective events on YouTube.

Watch highlights from the 2020 programme

In 2020, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, a different three-day programme was delivered by our new Youth Collective. Made up of 15 diverse young people, the Collective produced a series of video conversations and lectures based around the theme of 'change'.
