You're invited to visit the British Museum this February half-term to explore ancient Egypt as part of our major new exhibition Hieroglyphs: unlocking ancient Egypt.
Join us for a range of activities such as crafts and storytelling celebrating the decipherment of this beautiful script. The full programme will be announced soon.
This event is part of the public programme complementing Hieroglyphs: unlocking ancient Egypt (open until 19 February 2023).
To attend this event
This event takes place in various locations across the Museum. It's free to attend and you can drop in at any time. Activities are non-ticketed but places are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see the programme (coming soon) for the times activities are taking place.
Due to the nature of some activities, numbers will be restricted to prevent overcrowding while other activities will be held at full capacity, without social distancing measures in place.
You're advised to book a free timed ticket to guarantee entry to the Museum. The Main entrance is on Great Russell Street. Your timed ticket allows you to explore the permanent collection during your visit. See the Visit page for more information. Last entry to the Museum on Friday 17 February is 19.00.
