The British Museum's annual City Lit Classics Day in 2020 will offer lectures exploring the interpretations and reinterpretations of Troy, through archaeology, literature and art. Why and how has ancient Troy, its legends, heroes and myths, been of such enduring resonance throughout the ages?

The keynote speaker will be Ian Morris, Willard Professor of Classics at Stanford University, USA. Other lecturers will include Gesine Manuwald, Professor of Latin, UCL, Hilary Williams, British Museum, and exhibition curators Alexandra Villing and Victoria Donnellan.
