Description
Mount delaminated and acetate removed. Inlay around object trimmed to release object from mount. Poultice of methylcellulose used to soften inlay and enable it to be removed. Adhesive residues reduced with methylcellulose then warm water swabs. Some residues unable to be removed and were serving as protection for the edges so were left. Repairs carried out with Japanese tissue (Juko) adhered with wheat starch paste. Infills in largest losses were carried out with (washed) historic paper with Juko backing adhered with wheat starch paste. Object encouraged to flatten by pressing between felts and boards with increased weight being added. Then pressed between blotters and boards.
