Treatment; 5 Apr 2018; Secure/consolidate small section of gold inlay; Metals

Reason: Temporary Exhibition
Description: Areas of soft, green corrosion were removed with a scalpel and a soft natural bristle brush. The exposed area was consolidated with a thin layer of 5% w/v Paraloid B-72 in acetone. The loose area of gilding was supported and consolidated with 10% w/v Paraloid B-72 in acetone.
