- Biography
- Collector of coins, especially of Asia Minor, and classical inscriptions. Lived in the Levant for over 30 years. Formed his collection in Smyrna. Keeper of the Greek order of the 'Saviour'; Corresponding Member of the Archaeological Institutes of Rome and Berlin. The British Museum purchased his collection in 1833. [There are some papers in British Museum Archives: Original Papers 8, 9, also BM Officers' Reports 14]
