- Collector of a wide range of material, but especially armour and weapons; cousin of Lt-Gen Augustus W H Meyrick (q.v.); Bonington and Delacroix visited his collection at 20 Upper Cadogan Place, London, on 8-9 July 1825. His famous collection of armour is now mostly in the Wallace Collection.
