Details: individual; mythological figure/creature; Greek; Roman; Male
Biography: Son of Laomedon, king of Troy, and brother of Priam (q.v.); lover and subsequent husband of Eos/Aurora (q.v.) and father of Emathion and Memnon (q.v.). Eos asked Zeus to grant him immortality, but forgot to ask for eternal youth as well; Tithonos grew old and withered, and Eos turned him into a cicada or a grasshoppper.
