Biography: Campanian red-figure vase painter whose name is unknown. Nevertheless consistent characteristics of style suggest a unique artistic personality. He has been called the Foundling Painter, having been named after the image of a phlyax actor finding an infant in swaddling clothes. A few vases have been attributed to his hand on the basis of style.
