The Epidromos Painter

Biography: Athenian red-figure vase-painter whose name is unknown. Nevertheless consistent individual characteristics of style suggest the existence of a unique artistic personality. Beazley called him the Epidromos Painter after the 'kalos' name that he used on several of his cups. Other cups have been attributed to his hand on the basis of style. His works may in fact be early works of the painter Apollodoros (q.v.). He specialised in decorating small, delicate cups.
