- Painter, printmaker and teacher, associated with the Pop Art Movement; born in Horsforth, Yorkshire and attended Bradford Regional College of Art, 1950-7; studied at the Royal Academy Schools, 1960-64; visiting professor at Minneapolis College of Art, USA, and then taught at Maidstone College of Art, 1978; joined the Redfern Gallery in 1964 and exhibited there regularly until 1981; also had many international solo exhibitions; lives in London. His work is held by the Tate Gallery, V&A Museum, Cartwright Hall, Bradford, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
